InfinitunesReview by John Carlin is an incredible book that has changed the way I watch TV
and listen to music. It's been on my reading list for a while and I'm glad that
I read it. This review will give you an inside look at what this book has to
offer. With that said, let's get started.
The premise of Infinitunes is that all the "rules" about how to use your
MP3 players is wrong. You don't need a special program, you don't have to be a
technical wizard, you don't need to have a lot of money, and you don't need to
have a good grasp of audio engineering. Everything that you thought you knew
about listening to music and watching television is totally wrong!
In fact,
John points out that most of the people that make great audio engineering
experts (think the engineers at Nike or Mercedes) probably do not even like
music! You don't have to be a computer genius to make some really good audio.
You just have to know the fundamentals of audio engineering. You also just need
a little patience and some dedication to learn how to do it.
What
Infinitunes explains in the book is that a lot of people use what they're told
by other people to make great sounds. What these people think are great sounds
actually aren't. You need to take things from a completely different
perspective. You also need to understand that you don't have to make your
recordings sound like they were made at NASA.
One example of what Infinitunes describes is the old practice of using an amplifier
to make your tracks sound better. It may make your speakers sound more
powerful, but it really does nothing to the sound that you hear.
As well
as the technology that you use in your home to make your recordings sound
better, you should also think about what kind of equipment you have in your car
to make the same type of recordings. This is the same advice that John gives
with respect to listening to music. Don't be fooled by what looks like great
equipment. Some really great equipment can be a waste of money if you don't
know what you're doing.
In
addition to the knowledge that you need to create the kind of recordings you
want, you also need to be able to listen to it in the right way to really get
the most out of Infinitunes. If you don't, you won't know how to use it
correctly. and your recordings will be terrible. Remember that the best way to
make your recordings is to listen to them and not only to play them back on
your computer.
If you
haven't heard of this book by John Carlin before, I highly recommend that you
give it a chance. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it. If you are,
then I suggest that you give it another shot sometime soon!
One of
the thing that John talks about in this book is the fact that a lot of people
use GarageBand, ProTools, or Sonar to make their songs sound great. This is the
opposite of what you need in your home studio for your next recording.
Infinitunes
gives you step-by-step instructions on how to record professional sounding
recordings using these programs. However, he doesn't try to sell you on them.
He simply says that they aren't what you need.
John
explains that you need to invest in a good drum machine that allows you to
control the volume and tone of your drum sounds. Also, you need to spend the
money to buy microphones that allow you to tweak the depth of your bass,
midrange, and highs.
If you do
those three things, you'll be able to create a great recording in no time at
all. Just remember to listen to what John has to say, and follow his
recommendations.
